Paint peeling, blistering, or chalking
Peeling usually means moisture or a skipped prep step last time, not just old paint. We find out which before we recoat, or the new coat fails the same way.
Mildew and green film on shaded walls
North-facing and tree-shaded walls grow mildew in this climate. Painting over it just feeds it under the new coat — it has to be washed and killed first.
Faded, tired color dragging down the house
PNW UV and rain flatten color over the years. Fresh exterior paint is one of the highest-return, lowest-cost things you can do to a house.

Products and prep matched to the wall
We apply Sherwin-Williams exterior coatings — a premium line built to hold color and resist mildew in wet climates — and we match the product to your substrate, whether that's fiber cement, engineered wood, cedar, or vinyl. But the coating is the last 20%. The job is the prep: pressure or soft wash to kill mildew and lift chalk, scrape and sand failing paint, spot-prime or full-prime bare and repaired areas, caulk the gaps water sneaks through, and mask everything that isn't getting painted. Paint over a bad surface and you're repainting in three years.

How we do it

Surface assessment and color
We check for moisture, mildew, and failing paint, tell you honestly what the surface needs, and put colors on the wall in real light before you commit.
- 02
Wash, prep, and prime
Wash and let it dry, scrape and sand, make minor wood and caulk repairs, then prime bare and patched areas so the topcoat has something to grip.

Topcoat and walkthrough
Sherwin-Williams topcoat applied at proper coverage, clean cut lines, grounds masked and swept, then a walk of the whole house together. Most homes: several days to a week, weather permitting.

What an exterior repaint actually costs
Painting is priced on prep more than paint. What moves the number: square footage and number of stories, how much scraping and repair the old surface needs, siding type and texture, trim and detail work, and access. A house that just needs a wash and a coat is a very different number from one fighting years of peeling — and we'll tell you which one yours is before we quote.

How long will an exterior paint job last in the Northwest?
With real prep and quality Sherwin-Williams product, typically several years to a decade depending on siding type, sun exposure, and how the last coat was done. The single biggest variable isn't the paint brand — it's whether the surface was properly washed, dried, and primed first.
Can you paint in the rainy season?
We paint when the wall can dry and cure, which in the PNW means watching the forecast and the surface moisture closely. There's a real window most of the year, but we won't rush a coat onto a damp wall to hit a date — that's how paint fails early.
Do you deal with the mildew and green growth first?
Always. Painting over mildew traps live growth under the coat and it bleeds right back through. Every job starts with a wash that cleans and kills the biological growth so the new paint bonds to a sound surface.
Why Sherwin-Williams over a cheaper paint?
Premium exterior lines hold color, resist mildew, and flex through wet-dry cycles better than budget paint, so the coat lasts longer in this climate. That said, the product is only as good as the prep under it — we won't sell you top paint on a surface we didn't prepare right.
