Signs to watch
Is this you?
Soft, swollen, or crumbling boards
Press a suspect board and it gives — that's moisture already in the substrate. The damage you can see is usually the smallest part.
Cracks, splits, or storm and impact holes
Wind-thrown branches, hail, a ladder slip, a stray baseball. Open siding lets water behind the wall, and PNW water never dries out on its own.
Paint failing in just a few spots
When paint peels or blisters in patches while the rest holds, the board underneath is wet or rotting. You're painting a symptom.
One elevation aged faster than the rest
South and west walls take the weather; north walls grow the mildew. Often only the exposed side needs work, not the whole house.
Your options
Repair honestly, re-side only when the math says so
We replace rotted and damaged boards, rebuild the flashing that let water in, seal penetrations, and blend the repair into your existing siding so it reads as one wall. Matching matters and we're honest about it — weathered blending and the right paint do more than a perfect SKU. And if enough of the wall is gone that a patch is just delaying the inevitable, we'll show you the moisture in photos and let you decide.
The method
How we do it
- 01
Find how far the water traveled
We open enough to see where the moisture stopped, not just where it showed. Photos of everything we find.
- 02
Fixed-price repair quote
You approve the number before a board comes off. No hourly mysteries.
- 03
Replace, flash, and blend
Matched boards, corrected flashing, sealed and painted to blend. You get before/after photos for your records — useful when you sell.
Straight numbers
What siding repair actually costs
Repairs are quoted as fixed prices, not open-ended labor. What moves the number: how many boards are gone, whether the sheathing behind them is wet, the material (Hardie, engineered wood, cedar, or vinyl), and how hard the wall is to reach. If the repair would run past roughly a third of a re-side, we'll show you the math on both paths honestly.
Where we do this work
Siding Repair: straight answers
Can you match my existing siding?
Usually, yes. We source the major PNW siding lines and blend the repair into the weathered finish around it — how it ages next to the old boards matters more than a perfect factory match. We'll show you the match before we paint.
Do small siding cracks really matter here?
In this climate, yes. A crack or open seam wicks rain into the substrate and framing, and it rots invisibly for a year or two before you see a stain inside. The gap between a small repair and a wall rebuild is usually just time.
Will you try to sell me a full re-side?
No. Repair is honest work we're glad to do well. When we do recommend replacing a wall, it comes with photos of the moisture damage — and plenty of our visits end with 'fix these three boards and you're fine.'
Can you repair just one wall or section?
Often, yes. Damage usually concentrates on the weather side or around a specific window or penetration. Sectional repair done well can buy years at a fraction of a whole-home cost.
