Signs to watch
Is this you?
Tired, scuffed, or dated wall color
Years of hands, furniture, and gray PNW light flatten a color out. Fresh paint is the fastest way to make a whole room read clean again — and it's cheap next to anything else you'd change.
You live here and can't move out for a week
Most interior work happens around a family that's still cooking, sleeping, and working from home. The difference between a good crew and a bad one is how little you notice we're there.
Ceiling stains or bathroom mildew coming through
A brown ring or spotty ceiling usually traces back to a past leak or a bath that doesn't vent. Rolling color over it hides it for a month, then it bleeds back. It gets sealed first or not at all.
Fresh drywall, a remodel, or prepping to sell
New rock, a patched wall, or a house going on the market all want an even, uniform coat. Clean neutral paint is the cheapest thing that makes a home photograph and show like it's been cared for.
Your options
Products, sheen, and containment matched to the room
We use Sherwin-Williams interior paints and match the line to the room — a washable, scrubbable finish for hallways, kids' rooms, and kitchens that take abuse, a flatter sheen for ceilings and low-traffic walls that hides imperfection. Low-VOC and low-odor options matter when you're sleeping in the house that night, and we default to them unless you tell us otherwise. But the paint is the last step. The job is the prep and the protection: filling and sanding dings, caulking gaps, taping crisp lines, and sealing off rooms so drywall dust and overspray stay where the work is and off the rest of your house.
The method
How we do it
- 01
Walkthrough, color, and a plan for living around it
We look at the surfaces, flag anything that needs sealing or repair, put your colors on the wall in your actual light, and agree on which rooms happen when so you're never boxed out of your own kitchen.
- 02
Protect, prep, and prime
Furniture moved and covered, floors and fixtures masked, rooms contained. Then patch, sand, caulk, and spot-prime the repairs and any stains so the finish coat lands even instead of flashing where the wall was touched up.
- 03
Coat, detail, and put the room back
Even coats at proper coverage, cut lines that are actually straight, then we pull tape clean, wipe down, put your furniture back, and walk every room with you before we call it done.
Straight numbers
What an interior repaint actually costs
Interior painting is priced on prep, detail, and access more than on gallons. What moves the number: how many rooms and how much ceiling, the condition of the walls and how much patching they need, the amount of trim and how many colors, whether we're cutting around stayed-put furniture or an empty house, and ceiling height. A clean repaint in a maintained home is a very different number from filling and sealing a wall that's taken years of wear — and we'll tell you which one yours is before we quote.
Where we do this work
Interior Painting: straight answers
Can we stay in the house while you paint?
Almost always, yes. We work room by room, contain the space we're in, and use low-VOC, low-odor Sherwin-Williams products so the air stays livable. We'll sequence it so you keep access to a kitchen and a bathroom the whole time, and we clean up the work area every day, not just at the end.
Do I need to move all my furniture out?
No. We move and cover what's in the way and work around what stays. If a room can be emptied it paints faster and cleaner, but a full-house move-out isn't required — protecting your things is our job, not yours.
Will the new paint smell up the house?
Far less than it used to. Modern low-VOC interior lines have a fraction of the odor of old paint, and we ventilate as we go. Most rooms are back to normal by evening. If someone in the house is especially sensitive, tell us and we'll plan the sequence and ventilation around it.
What about a stained ceiling or a spot that keeps bleeding through?
That gets a stain-blocking primer first. Water rings, smoke, and tannin bleed will ghost right back through ordinary paint no matter how many coats you roll on. We seal the source area, then finish over it, so the stain stays gone.
Do you paint trim, doors, and ceilings too, or just walls?
All of it. Walls, ceilings, baseboards, casing, doors — and honestly, sharp trim and a clean ceiling line are what separate a professional job from a weekend one. We'll walk the whole scope with you so nothing's a surprise.
