Signs to watch
Is this you?
Condensation fogging between the panes
A failed seal has let the insulating gas out. The window's insulation value is gone and cleaning won't bring it back — the unit needs replacing.
Drafts you can feel sitting nearby
Old single-pane and failed double-pane windows leak a real share of your heating spend. Modern vinyl with a good insulated frame closes that gap.
You want low maintenance and lower bills
Vinyl never needs painting and won't rot. If the priority is efficiency and a fair price without ongoing upkeep, it's the practical choice.
Whole-home replacement on a budget
When you're doing every opening in the house, vinyl's lower per-window cost is what makes the whole project fit — without giving up energy performance.
Your options
Where vinyl fits — and where it doesn't
Vinyl frames are hollow multi-chamber extrusions, often foam-filled on better lines, which is what makes them insulate well. They never need painting, won't rot, and carry Low-E coatings and argon fills tuned for our heating-dominated climate. The catch is honesty about tiers: thin builder-grade vinyl warps and racks, so we install thicker-gauge, reinforced frames from lines that hold up. Color choice is limited — light neutrals are safest, since dark vinyl can absorb heat and expand — and very large or very tall openings are where vinyl's flex starts to show and fiberglass or wood-clad earns its cost instead.
The method
How we do it
- 01
Measure and spec each opening
Every opening measured, every window ordered to fit — no gap-and-caulk installs — with the glass package matched to the room's exposure.
- 02
Install, inspect, seal
Old units out, openings checked for rot, new units set square, insulated, flashed, and sealed against the weather.
- 03
Function walkthrough
Every window opened, locked, and tilted with you watching before we sign off.
Straight numbers
Vinyl pricing without the showroom games
Vinyl sits at the value end of replacement windows — the lowest installed cost per opening of the frame materials we install, which is exactly why it's the default for whole-home projects. Size, glass package, and quality tier move the number. Whole-home projects get volume pricing in writing. The price is the price — no today-only theater.
Where we do this work
Vinyl Windows: straight answers
Is vinyl actually good, or just cheap?
Good vinyl is genuinely good — energy-efficient, maintenance-free, and a strong value. The reputation problem comes from thin builder-grade units that warp and rack. We install thicker-gauge, reinforced lines, and the difference in how they operate ten years in is night and day.
Can I get vinyl windows in a dark color?
Options are limited, and there's a real reason: dark vinyl absorbs heat and expands more, which can stress the frame and seals over time. Light neutrals are the safe, long-lasting choice. If you're set on a dark exterior, fiberglass holds dark finishes far better — we'll show you both.
How long do vinyl windows last?
A quality vinyl window lasts a long time in this climate; the insulated glass seal is usually what ages first, and that's covered separately by the manufacturer. What shortens vinyl's life is heat-driven expansion on dark or oversized units — which is exactly why we're careful about color and where we spec it.
Vinyl or fiberglass for my house?
Vinyl for value and most standard openings — it's efficient and maintenance-free at a lower cost. Fiberglass when you want dark colors, slim sightlines, or maximum strength on large windows. Many homes get a mix: vinyl on the bulk of the openings, fiberglass where it earns the upgrade.
