The Missing Panel Is the Part You Can See

Wind can tear panels off and hail can crack or dent them, but the damage that matters most is often the moisture path opened up behind the wall. We assess the whole wall, not just the hole.

Signs to watch

Is this you?

Panels missing or torn loose after wind

A gust that lifts one panel usually stresses its neighbors and the fasteners around it. What blew off is the obvious damage; what loosened is the part that leaks next.

Cracks, dents, or holes from hail or impact

Hail and windblown debris crack vinyl, dent metal, and chip fiber cement. Even where the panel holds, a crack is now an open door for water to get behind the wall.

An exposed wall that needs to be kept dry now

Once siding is breached, the sheathing and framing behind it are exposed to the next storm. Temporary protection buys time to do the permanent repair right.

You suspect more than the visible damage

Impact that breaks the siding plane can drive water into the wall cavity. The visible break is a symptom; the question is what got wet behind it.

Your options

Assess the whole wall, then repair and match

We start with a full-wall assessment, because storm damage rarely stops at the panel you can see — we check the surrounding fasteners, the moisture path, and the sheathing behind a breach. Where we can protect an exposed wall the same day, we do. Then we repair or replace the affected sections and match the existing siding as closely as the product and its weathering allow. We document everything with photographs, which is useful whether or not you file a claim. On insurance work we coordinate with your adjuster and speak to what we observe — but we don't decide coverage, and we'll never promise you a carrier will pay.

The method

How we do it

  1. 01

    Full-wall assessment and documentation

We inspect beyond the visible damage — fasteners, seams, and the wall behind any breach — and photograph it all so you have a clear record.

  2. 02

    Temporary protection where needed

If a wall is open to the weather, we secure and cover it to keep water out until the permanent repair is scheduled.

  3. 03

    Repair, replace, and match

We repair or replace the affected sections and match the existing siding as closely as the product and its weathering allow.

Straight numbers

How storm repairs are priced

Cost depends on how much siding is affected, whether the wall behind it took on water, and how difficult the match is on an older product. Small repairs are modest; matching or re-siding a full wall is a larger job. If you're filing an insurance claim, we'll document what we find and coordinate with your adjuster — but the scope and payout are between you and your carrier, and we quote the actual work, not a claim estimate.

Where we do this work

Storm-Damaged Siding: straight answers

Will my insurance cover storm-damaged siding?

That's your carrier's decision, not ours, and it depends on your policy and what the adjuster determines. What we can do is document the damage thoroughly with photos, coordinate with your adjuster, and speak to what we observed on the wall. We won't promise a specific outcome on coverage.

Can you match my existing siding?

Usually we can get close. Exact matches get harder as a product ages and discontinues, and weathering shifts color over time. We'll show you the closest available match before installing, and on a very visible wall we'll talk through whether matching a section or re-siding the wall gives the better result.

My wall is open to the weather — can you protect it now?

Yes. When a wall is breached, keeping water out is the priority, so we secure and cover the exposed area to buy time for a proper permanent repair rather than rushing a patch that traps moisture.

The damage looks minor — do I really need a full assessment?

A cracked or missing panel can look small while the real issue is water that got behind the wall or fasteners loosened across a wider area. We assess the whole wall so a small-looking repair doesn't leave a hidden moisture problem behind it.

The inspection is free, the photo report is yours either way, and plenty of them end with "your siding has years left." Worst case, you learn something.
